Please reach us at Pittypartybullyrescue@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Pitty Party Bully Rescue is a 501(c) nonprofit organization that rescues bullies & giant breeds in need in Central California. It is ran out of our home, and our biggest limitations are time and space. All of the dogs in our care are provided with a "home-like" environment.
What does that mean? It means that although they are kenneled when unsupervised, they get to spend time in the play yard with other dogs (provided they are dog social of course), and they get human interaction for hours a day...every day, they get to lay on the couch, play with stuffed animals, watch TV, and go for walks, just like a dog in a normal home. While this may seem like an odd approach to some, we believe it reduces the kennel stress that many dogs can experience in a shelter environment, and ultimately it helps prepare them for their forever home. They get used to a routine, they know their breakfast and bed times, and generally this leads to a dog that's very well kennel and house trained (which is always a plus).
Pit bulls are the breed that we focus on the most, but we do take other breeds from time to time, when situations arise. That being said, we generally stick to bully and mastiff breeds, simply put because their energy level is a better fit for our property. our property has a 6ft fence, some of which is rod iron ornamental, so a small dog can escape through the fencing, and a particularly athletic dog like a Malinois or Husky could easily clear the fence.
Rarely. Not never, but rarely.
We get daily requests, and each situation that's causing the person to re-home their pet is seemingly sadder than the next. We've seen deaths in the family, divorce, bankruptcy, fire, etc....just an absolute multitude of devastating reasons...and we genuinely commiserate with every single one of these requests, but we just can't take them all.
What we can do is create and/or share a post for re-home, so if re-homing a pet is the reason you are reaching out, please attach all relevant information:
Dog's Breed/Age/Sex/Altered/Chipped, as well as any relevant behavior ie: dog friendly/cat friendly/ok with small children and anything else that helps plead the dog's case.
Please also send pictures to pittypartybullyrescue@gmail.com...the more information, the better the chances.
It's honestly a bit of a toss up.
It depends on whether or not we have open space at any given time. We receive daily texts/social media messages/emails/in person requests to help a slew of dogs.
These requests come from shelters, fellow rescues, the general public, and pet owners.
There are a variety of requests, from fellow rescues needing Foster / Temporary hold, or Transport for dogs that need to get out of a shelter and on their way to rescue, as well as owner's that have to rehome dogs, and shelters that have dogs on their euthanasia list.
We help when we can, where we can, how we can.
